CastleStorm

This time it's all about a fun quick game. You get a castle -which can be upgraded, a ballista and an army and must defend your castle from the evil guys that want it. There are many ammunition types or soldiers or magic spells etc to use. From arrows and knights to apples and sheep.

You can also get in the battle with a knight instead of just shooting down the bad ones. The opticals are WoW-like cartoon-styled 3d graphics and the sound follows. With the many modes, on and off-line, CastleStorm will give you some good fun.

No rating, it rocks.

Pinball FX2

The game is not all about physics of the ball, it's about fun and tables. Most of them are licenced Star Wars or Marvel tables and there are some other ones too that are very good. And more are to come via dlc.

The graphics are excellent as well as the sound. The complexity of the tables makes them interesting as they go from simple to extravagant. Anyone will have fun with this game.

Pokemon X/Y

With the best storyline so far, Poke XY is the best with 3D visuals and more Pokemon than ever.

It will take you about 22 hours to be champion but true majesty lies after credits roll. It's a whole new world filled with life, places and pokemon to level up.

DayZ - Alpha version

You wake up somewhere. You must survive not only hunger and thirst but also zombies. Scavenge, loot, kill bandits and do your best. It's like real life, but harder.

40 players/server, nice graphics and natural sounds give a good feeling. The patches are coming like rain by the team too. It's going to be a hell of game.

Rating with the full release.

The Cat Lady

Strong emotional content and gore make up for this great psychologic thriller. Susan tried to kill herself but has to go back and find a way to win her death by killing some monstrous people. It's a deep dive into raw gloomy human emotion filled with violent disturbing images and dialogues.

It's all about making the viewer understand what dark art is about, much like the Serbian Film but with a point and reason of existence. It will give you much food for thought, if you manage to keep playing and don't freak out emotionally-wise.

Gears of War

You get a team of ultra badass dudes full of protein supplements who hold chainsaw machine guns. They have to kill the aliens that want Earth. It's cliche but has an awesome co-op.

Gloomy dark grey graphics and -for it's time- awesome visuals with a pretty good soundtrack make up for a great game. Pure fun.

Story 7/10 Gameplay 8/10 Technical 8/10 Overall 8/10

Minecraft

You build whatever you want - if you find the material you need, combine items to make others and try to survive from the monsters that come at night. Or just roam with infinite recources to make anything at all. It's sandbox, like LEGO.

But then again, it's so much like LEGO. Pixelated graphics, everything you see is a box model with some texture. The sound is boring and the mechanics dull. What is the point of this game?

Legend of Grimrock

Grimrock is a prison built in a mountain. The party falls in and has to descend the tower to get out and be free. Hou have a party of 4, 4 races and 3 classes. You build them and then play. It's great how Dungeons & Dragons is merged with real time action gameplay and the use of a 3D grid.

Graphics are good yet monotonous as all we see is dungeons, the sound is the same. Where lies the majesty is exploration, secrets, puzzles and battle. If you are a fan of dungeon crawling you'll love it.

Story 6/10 Gameplay 10/10 Technical 9/10 Overall 8/10

Desktop Dungeons

The whole concept is that you get a randomly generated dungeon, you choose a race and a class -of course each has its unique bonuses- and try to kill the boss. There is a concept of micromanaging as the recources are limited so the trial and error is a lot present.

2D world, likeable music and simple controls add up to a great indie game. If you purchase it you can play via Steam or browser. The saves sync so it's practically portable. Also the alpha of the game is free to download and give it a try at the official site of the game.

Need for Speed Rivals

Rivals is a mix of Hot Pursuit and Most Wanted. You get an open world, a bunch of supercars and the option to play as a cop or a racer. Then there is the map, it's not-that-big, not-that complex but it's beautiful.

Eye-candy graphics, Hollywood chace scenes and simple car upgrades make up for a title with an above-average rating. And the multiplayer is a poor one.

Bioshock Infinite: Burial at Sea – Episode One

Ιn this version of events, Booker's client Elizabeth takes him to Rapture to find a little girl he'd lost some time ago. The two-hour story is good despite the underdeveloped plot and leaves a nice hook to Episode Two.

Rapture feels greater than before with the addition of tears and points to use the air-hook-thingy. It's a nice change of pace to see her before the downfall too.

XCOM: Enemy Within

Enemy Unknown's standalone expansion is a really worthy one. The story is the same but the additions are many an' good. A new substance called "Meld" is found and is used in two new labs to bio-enhance your troops or make them more or less cyborgs, criticaly adds to the tactics, gameplay and fun factor.

Also add about 47 new single and multi maps, new sound options like the soldiers native languages and some new units and you have all an expansion needs. And last, the general quality of life in the game is better than before. Just go for it.

XCOM: Enemy Unknown

Aliens are flooding the earth and the only organisation capable of stopping them is XCOM. We control the entire thing, from battle to research and soldier upgrades. XCOM is a turn based tactical shooting game where the player commands a platoon of 4-6 soldiers through various levels and objectives.

Technically the title is very good good along with the sound and most importantly, the level design is awesome. Yes, turn based tactical shooting sounds dull but give it a chance, the game rocks.

Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag

The new chapter of AC is a trully good one. You get to be Edward, a pirate of the golden pirate era in the Caribbean. Plus, you are an assassin, in a more loose term though. The main hunt is for gold, the Observatory - a place which holds an artifact like the Apple of Eden and of course fame.

You get a huge map full of small islands ready to be explored, a ship, a fighting system that is lighter and more fun to play, great GFX and sound and thr chance to drive away of the main plot to live as a mighty pirate. It's good from every point of view.

Runaway: The Dream of the Turtle

the dream of the rurtle catches up exaclty from where A Road Adventure ended. Once more Gina is proven to be a problem magnet and both her and Brian find themselves in the middle of a secret base somewhere on a remote location.

The plot is not as tight as before but the humor is great and the graphics have been improved. Also one or two puzzles will frustrate you as they are somewhat weird but most of the game follows its predecesor. Nice sequel all in all.

Runaway: A Road Adventure

This was one of the last great adventure games of the past decade. You are Brian Basco, a student beggining his journey to college when he bumps into Gina who is chased by the mafia. He decides to help her and a great adveture begins.

Runaway is a game with a ton of great characters, filled with good humor and colourful locations. The puzzles/riddles are well written and won't frustrate you, instead, they will put your mind to good work. Add a hit OST by Vera Domínguez and you get a game that stands out really well.

Story 9/10 Gameplay 8/10 Technical 8/10 Overall 8/10

Battlefield 4

A mediocre to bad campaign makes it seem like it's laughing with the category while the multiplayer sets new levels of how fps games must be. With many modes -including "Commander Mode" where you get to give orders to the team- is something to give many hours of gameplay to.

The otpicals are truly bad while the sound is good. Many glitches and broken polygons add up to an ugly experience. But the destruction mechanisms hold a good post between strategical demolitions and excellent level design. If you want a memorable, realistic online war experience go for it.

Story 5/10 Gameplay 9/10 Technical 6/10 Overall 8/10

The Walking Dead

The game follows Lee and Clementine in a series of episodes occuring during the walker apocalypse. The story is based on the Walking Dead comics and it is very good. It not only has known-from-the-series characters but is really immersive and puts dilemmas and moral choices to the player.

Npcs remember what you do and say so the plot wraps around your gamestyle. The graphics are cel-shaded and fit the theme, as the sound is - subtle and nice. Basically it's an adveture but you get action-like scenes like bashing a zombie or some QTEs that work very good and don't break the atmosphere. Go for it even if you are not a fan of the show
